Phenix dealer Scott Molitor of MoFab recently competed in the 2012 “Race to the Clouds.” The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest motor sports race in America and a long-standing tradition in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region. First competed in 1916 and this year marks the 90th running of the event. This year the race has 16 classes and features a variety of automotive, exhibition, open wheel, super stock car, and motorcycle classes with a field approaching 200 competitors. There is no other race course in the world like the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. That is why it attracts race crews that are willing to spend several hundred thousand dollars and months of preparation to compete for the right to be the King of the Mountain.
Scott finished an impressive 6th in the Time Attack driving his MoFab built Subaru GC8. The car is classed as a NASA ST-1 Car and makes 446whp 430wTQ. E85, GT 3076. Stock 5spd. “We made it to the top of Pikes Peak with a time of 12:04. The run started off great until we were red flagged and turned back at halfway picnic grounds, clocked in at 92mph before the straight. After the evo crash we were re-started but by then the weather had moved in and we got rained on. The car ran great!!!!”
Scott was kind enough to send us pics from the event and thank us for our participation. “I couldn’t have done it without your help and support!!!!” www.mo-fab.com/
