If this was a good idea Phenix would carry teflon tape.
They don’t.
The seal on AN fittings is made at the 37 degree face not on the threads. Tape is actually a lubricant intended to allow additional torque and tightening. Too much and you risk raising a gaul on the 37 degree seal. It’s a bad idea.
